Schoolwear Association Mailer – 26 June 2020

A message from the SA

As stores continue to adapt to new social distancing regulations, we want to see how your stores have changed over recent weeks. Whether that’s Perspex screens to protect staff and customers, new signage or an altered layout to make a one-way system more manageable, please share your images with [email protected]. We will be sharing the best images, initiatives and ideas on social media to show that the industry is safely open for business.

Again, we would strongly urge all members to continue to speak to their schools during these challenging times. There will be a number of important questions facing them ahead of a planned full re-opening of schools in September and we expect uniform to be one of them, so it is vital that, as industry experts, SA members are offering guidance and support.

Support from MPs

You may have seen that, over the weekend, Conservative MP Andrew Lewer warned that Covid-19 and the uniform bill pose genuine threats to the future of school uniform. Andrew is one of a number of MPs that backs the arguments of the SA and we are working hard with WA Comms to grow this support base.

If you have not already done so, we would encourage SA members to speak to their local MP to discuss the benefits of a uniform to schools, parents and pupils as well as the range of community and affordability schemes so many businesses in our industry have in place.
